Mount Everest 29er*

Mount Everest is Earth's highest mountain above sea level at 29,032 ft — the crown jewel of human mountaineering. But it makes this list with an asterisk: measured base-to-summit, the way every other peak here is, Everest rises only ~12,000–15,000 ft from its base on the Tibetan Plateau and wouldn't qualify as a 29er at all. It is here on sea-level fame alone — out-topped from base to peak by two ocean-rooted Hawaiian volcanoes, and dwarfed by a tilted block of crust on a moon of Jupiter.
